Join us on Sunday 1 February for the Lilydale & Yarra Valley Community Day! It's a family friendly event and entry is free. If you have any questions please contact us via Live Chat or email barefootbowling@gmail.com

Our indoor and outdoor bars will be open, and we'll be running a social membership special of only $10 for 15 months. Join on the day and you'll get instant access to members drink prices!
Barefoot Bowls
Instead of the usual $15 per person we're offering barefoot/social bowls for free! All equipment is supplied and we can show you how to bowl. To guarantee a spot bookings are essential and can be made via the box shown above (mobile) or to the right (desktop), or via the Bookings page. More information on playing bowls, including a short video, can be found on our Play Bowls page.

Members are welcome to book a rink as well, just make a booking for 'barefoot bowls'.
Children's activities
We've arranged for some great activities to take place throughout the day, including:

Free face painting from 12.00-5.00pm with Hopey Pokey Painter. This is fully funded by the club.​

Arts and crafts activities, such as designing a tote bag, and games including giant jenga.

For little kids we have some rubber bowls that can be used, but please be aware that it can be dangerous on the green with other bowls around.​
​
Please ensure that children are fully supervised.
Junior Bowls
We're launching a junior bowls program on the day and encourage anyone aged 10-17 to give it a try. Bookings aren't required but if you have questions please email barefootbowling@gmail.com

Live Music
Sam Berry is a singer/guitarist from Melbourne who has taught music and performed at venues and events across Melbourne for the last 15 years. He plays acoustic covers of pop songs from every era.

Sam will be joined by some other great musicians on the day!
Community Groups
We're committed to developing positive relationships in the community and are pleased to be joined on the day by the following clubs and groups:

Eastern Raptors Rugby League Club (12.00-6.00pm)
Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting, Eastern Raptors RLC welcome all skill levels from 4 years up. Formed in 2011, the club has a range of boys and girls teams, as well as a men's team (18+) and masters team (35+). Visit the club at Colchester Reserve in Boronia on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.30pm at to have a chat. You can find out more about the club on their website. -
Holy Fools (time TBC)
Based in Hutchinson Street, Holy Fools is an independent, grassroots, not-for-profit charity providing assistance to individuals and families experiencing disadvantage, homelessness, addiction, mental illness and isolation. They'll be on hand to provide information and answer questions. Find out more about Holy Fools on their website. -
Lilydale CFA​ Fire Brigade (12.00-2.00pm)
Established in 1887, Lilydale CFA Fire Brigade protect the community and provide fire safety information. CFA volunteers will be coming along with an information table and vehicle, and will be able to answer any questions you have. Find out more about Lilydale CFA on their Facebook page. -
Lilydale Community House (time TBC)
LCH is located next door to the club and offers a welcoming and inclusive environment. Activities include cooking, table tennis, singing, dancing, craft, and exercise classes. LCH will have an information table with copies of their current programs and books, and would love to chat with locals regarding possible future activities. Lilydale SES​ (12.00-6.00pm)
Victoria State Emergency Service is a volunteer-based organisation which provides emergency assistance to Lilydale and may surrounding suburbs and towns. Meet some local SES volunteers at their information table and check out a support vehicle. Lilydale SES will also be operating a fundraising BBQ, so make sure you stop by there as well! Lilydale Township Action Group​ (12.00-6.00pm)
LTAG provides a strong independent voice to advocate for the people of Lilydale and also organises local events, including Carols in the Park. Visit their information table to find out more and consider becoming a member. Find out more about LTAG on their Facebook page. -
MacKillop Family Services (12.00-3.00pm)
Jordyn from MacKillop Family Services will be on hand to provide information to local residents and raise awareness about how community members can become carers. Find out more about MacKillop Family Services on their website. -
Mayfield Early Education Lilydale​ (12.00-2.00pm)
Based in Cave Hill Road, Mayfield provides child care services for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Staff will be on hand with an information table and will also be providing an activity for kids. Find out more about Mayfield on their website. -
Yarra Ranges Council​​ (12.00-4.00pm)
We're delighted to have Council's Early & Middle Years, Youth, and Community Engagement teams coming along on the day. They'll have information tables and activities for kids, and will be able to answer questions. Lilydale Craft & Produce Market (organised by the Rotary Club of Lilydale) will be operating from 9.00am-2.00pm in the Council Car Park next door. Check out the stalls before coming across to Lilydale Community Day! More information about the market and club can be found on their website.
