Lilydale Bowling Club is launching a junior bowls program in 2026 and invites anyone aged 10-17 to participate. The program, Yarra Valley Junior Bowls, will be launched at the upcoming Lilydale Community Day on Sunday 1 February and is open to all Lilydale and Yarra Valley locals as well as those in surrounding suburbs.

Participation in the program is free and includes the use of bowls and other equipment, coaching and support, and more. Sessions will be held on the first Sunday (10.00am-12.00pm) and third Thursday (5.00-6.30pm) of the month. The prime objective is to create a fun, relaxed environment where juniors can learn and enjoy bowls.

Come along to Lilydale Community Day on Sunday 1 February or one of our introductory sessions (Thursday 19 February, 5.00-6.30pm or Sunday 1 March, 10.00am-12.00pm) to give it a try. To register just attend one of our sessions or email barefootbowling@gmail.com

You can also become a junior bowls member of Lilydale for just $25 per year to receive numerous extra benefits. These include the ability to play in pennant competitions, club championships, and tournaments sanctioned by Bowls Victoria and Bowls Australia. It also includes entry into our weekly members draw, invitations to social events, and additional coaching.

Parents are encouraged to become involved and are welcome to attend and spectate. Bowling and social membership of Lilydale is available for parents and family members, and is a great way to become fully immersed in your child's bowls activities. Bowls is an inclusive sport for all ages and abilities, and we encourage juniors from diverse backgrounds to give it a try. We hope that our program will inspire young people to get involved in sport and has two different components, social and competitive.
